Ask The Reaper
May 13, 2007

From Ricky G:

Great looking site so far. Just a couple of questions. Is the Tony Hunt from Penn. State that was drafted by the Eagles this year a relative? And how many tackles is your goal this year? I need to get the tombstone ready.

Thank you. As far as know, I have no relations with Tony Hunt from Penn State. My goal for tackles is 100. I wanna force you to get an even bigger tombstone! So hopefully, I'll see plenty of action come my way.

From John Dumaine:

Reggie Great job on the site, the pictures are awesome and very interactive. Down to 20 plus days to camp and I can\'t wait. Good luck and God Bless!!!

Thank you and God bless you too!!

- RH

From Jeremy:

Hey Reaper, I was just wondering if you feel that your mirrored visor makes you more intimidating to opposing offensive players?

I don't know. Some people it would intimidate I guess. I can see how a quarterback would be because they can't see my eyes. They can't tell what I am looking at. But who cares what they can see right?

- RH

From Jesse Holmes:

Hello there Reg, I was just wondering if you think Nealon is the fastest quarterback that ever played for the Riders? Also I was wondering if you were good friends with him and would enjoy to see him back with the riders?

Yeah Nealon and I are friends. I wouldn't say that we're best friends but for sure when I see him we show each other mutual respect. Although he fast, I don't think he is the fastest. I'm pretty sure Rocky Butler is faster and their might even be a quarterback or two faster than Rocky.

- RH

From Phil R:

Reggie, what do you think of your little brother playing for the Lions? Did you give him any advice on the CFL/Canada after your success here?

Well I think ultimately it was a good decision for him to play in B.C. Although I would have loved for him to play here with me. It just would have been a little tougher at the time for him to crack the line up here. Whether he is better than Nate and Scott or not regardless, it would have been tough for him. He was just in a better situation going to B.C. He is so quick and fast for his size that I thought as a d-lineman being a yard off the ball would indeed work to his advantage.

From Warren:

Love the website, good luck this season, can't wait till you come to Calgary.

Thanks Warren! You'll have to get my attention somehow when we go to Calgary so that I can come speak to you.

- RH

From Todd Vallee:

What are your thoughts about the change in the Roughrider Head Coach and Manger regime?

Well it's definitely going to be different but, I'm excited. I can't wait to see how our team will adapt under new management. I think that we will be a fun team to watch this year. A lot of changes but, sometime change is good right? So, we'll see. But, I'm really excited.

From Dave aka TUF:

Hi Reggie! I posted this question to you on Riderville under the Q/A thread.Just wondering what your thoughts are on the direction our team is headed and how it's progressing under the new regime as well your thoughts on the SMS?If I could ask one more Eric stated if I'm correct that you were offered a contract extension and refused due to monentary reasons and a couple of people that have talked to you in person claim that this is false that you haven't been offered a contract exetention just wondering which it is (I'll understand if you don't feel comfortable answering this last one)Anyway I hope you're here for years to come.In my opinion you and Eddie will be the reason our D is once again the most respected in the league.Have a great season, play hard and stay healthy.

Hi Dave thanks for the post and comments! I think we are headed in a different but right direction. Like I stated before It will be different this year but, I've talked to Kent Austin enough to know that we are definitely all on the same page. He is passionate about the way he expect us to play on gameday and I couldn't agree more from what I hear from him. It should be alot of fun. As for the last question, I don't really want to comment on it. I have gotten to the point where I just let people believe what they wish. I try not to get caught up in all that. I will say this
tho: this is where I want to be. I want to be here for years to come and it's not all about the money. I am a firm believer that the truth will come out one way or another.

From Brenda Listwan:

Hi Reaper, Just want to wish you all the best this year, hope you get tons of sacks. Can't wait to get the season going already started countdown.Go Riders Go!!!

Thanks Brenda! I hope so too. But if I can free up of my teammates to get sacks, I will almost (lol) be just as satisfied.

From Paul Wilson:

Hi Reggie, just noticed you wore #2 at TCU. Was it your choice to change numbers when you arrived in Saskatchewan, and why did you choose #9.

I wore #2 in college because the head coach told me that I can have any number I wanted and at the time, #2 was the best number in the world to me. Now that I'm #9, I can fully credit my brother for that. He wore #9 in college. Since he and I are so close, I wanted to wear his number that wore when he broke all those college and big 12 records.\

- RH

From Kelly O'Byrne:

You are by far the best LB in the friggin' league. 1. Which player in the CFL do you love (or would love to) knocking the crap out of the most? 2. Who's the biggest chicken you've ever played against in the CFL?

The answer to both of those are all the receivers from Calgary. I really don't like them. I can never get a good hit on them either because they all hit the turf as soon as they touch the ball. They probably have a 0 yac (yards after catch) when they play us because they can't take a hit. It bothers me when I see them running off at the mouth because they are soft!!

- RH

From Joyce:

Hi Reggie When I attended the Football 101 clinic in Saskatoon, I told you that you were my favorite player. What I was wondering is how do I get one of your jerseys? Do they auction them off at the end of the season for big bucks? Looking forward to the new season and hopefully I see more wins - it makes the trip back to toon town just a little more pleasant. Thanks and have a great season!

Thank you Joyce! I guess they auction them off at the end of the season. The crazy thing is that we don't even see them after the season unless we are wearing the same ones. They don't even ask us if we would like to have or purchase our own jerseys. Other than that, I guess you would have to get a new one not worn by me. Which might be better for you being that we sweat in those things for six months.

- RH

From Bob Hugg:

What game didn't you start last year? I don't remember any games you didn't play.

Hey Bob! Long time no talk. Hope the kids are doing well. Anyway, I didn't play in the last Edmonton game. They made me stay home. I don't even count that game. You know I pride myself on not missing games or practice. In fact, I've never even missed a game except for that one last year. And I'm more proud that since I've been here, I've never missed a practice (excluding the one DB ok'd because, it was an extra easy day not really a practice). Durability Baby!!

From Tom:

Hi Reggie Season is just about here and the Rider nation is wild again. How do you think the new turf is going to effect our team this year, injury and playing wise.

That old stuff was taking years off of my career.  I thought that with the old stuff that I would be playing for another 5-6 years.  Now, who knows?  Maybe 8 but, at a high level of course.

- RH

From Ricky G:

What sort of stuff are you going to be selling on the store part of this site? I need to know how much room I have to make on my sports shelf.

I hope to have autographed posters, photos, maybe t-shirts...  I might even put together highlights.  Ideas?

- RH

From KC:

You have a nice ride, how come u drive so slo in it?

Kevin, Kevin!  We both know better than that.  I'm no slow driver.  In fact, we both know that I hate driving slow.  You on the other hand, one minute I'm riding along side of you the next minute you're a little dot in my rear view mirror with a mouth full of dust.
